Lake Hebron Artisans presents "Painters Paint Pots"

MONSON – The Lake Hebron Artisan will be showcasing “Painters Paint Pots” from September 8 through September 30. There will also be an opportunity to meet some of the artists and have them sign your poster September 15 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Lake Hebron Artisans’ Gallery.

Painters Paint Pots is an exhibition of pots designed by Jemma Gascoine and glazed by local artists at Lake Hebron Artisans in Monson, beginning September 8. The store is open throughout September from Friday to Sunday 9:00 – 5:00.

Painters Paint Pots is an offshoot of the very successful Mudseason show at the Center Theatre last March where 100 bowls made by local artists and non-artisans were displayed. At a given time ticket holders made a mad dash for the bowl they desired, sat down with their community to eat supper from it, rinsed it and then got to take it home. Jemma Gascoine, potter and Director of Mudseason, said, “There was such a great public response to the artists’ work that we thought we’d collaborate on bigger and more complex pieces.” The seven artists who have glazed the bowls and vases for the Painters Paints Pots exhibition include: John Bozin, Alan Bray, Milt Christianson, Jemma Gascoine, Lisa Laser, Bruce Towl and Todd Watts.

Meet the artists on the September 15 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the celebratory opening event. A collectable poster created for the show will be available and the artists will sign them upon request.
