The artists in this exhibition, photographers all, are inventors and innovators in their medium. They create images that do not document events. Their works are the events.
Included in this exhibition are Berenice Abbott, Enda Burke, Tielin Ding, Joanne Dugan, Chelsea Ellis, Kathy Grove, Jonty Sale and Todd Watts. The artists have all created, or produced, their work at Monson Arts, The Abbott Watts Residency, or at the Watts Studio.
"Made not Taken" will run from July 16 through December 31, 2022. Hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10am—5pm. The Gascoine Gallery is located on the Second Floor, above Monson Pottery at 16 Greenville Road in Monson, Maine.
